01 · AGREEMENT

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the St. Joseph Catholic School website, or by receiving communications from the school through email or text message, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website and reply STOP to any text message you receive from us.

These terms apply to visitors, prospective families, currently enrolled families, alumni, donors, and volunteers. They do not replace the Parent/Student Handbook, the Parent Code of Conduct, or any enrollment contract you have signed with the school — those documents govern the school–family relationship and control if there is a conflict.

02 · IDENTITY

Who we are

St. Joseph Catholic School is a Pre-K through 8th grade Catholic parish school located at 2200 N. Gomez Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33607, operating within the Diocese of St. Petersburg and grounded in the charism of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco. The school has served Tampa families since 1896.

References to "we," "us," "our," and "the school" mean St. Joseph Catholic School. The school may be reached in writing at the address above or by email at [email protected].

03 · PERMITTED USE

Use of this website

This website is provided for informational purposes for our school community and for families exploring enrollment. You may view, download, and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You agree not to:

  • Use the site in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site, our accounts, or our systems.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, scraping tools, or automated systems that interfere with normal operation.
  • Copy, republish, or redistribute site content for commercial purposes without written permission.
  • Impersonate the school, its staff, or any family, or misrepresent your affiliation with the school.
  • Collect information about students, families, or staff from this site for any purpose.
04 · INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Intellectual property

The name St. Joseph Catholic School, the school seal and crest, logos, photographs, written content, page designs, and other materials on this website are owned by the school or used with permission, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Photographs of students, families, and campus life may not be copied, reproduced, altered, or used for any purpose without the written consent of the school.

05 · ACCURACY

Accuracy and changes to information

We work to keep tuition amounts, calendars, schedules, menus, uniform requirements, and program descriptions accurate and current. Even so, information on this website may become out of date, may contain typographical errors, or may be superseded by a later school communication.

Published rates, fees, dates, and requirements are subject to change. Where a page conflicts with the current Parent/Student Handbook, an official school communication, or a signed enrollment agreement, those documents control. Please confirm anything time-sensitive with the front office by email before relying on it.

06 · THIRD PARTIES

Third-party links and services

This website links to and relies on services operated by other organizations, including our family portal and student information system, the FACTS tuition management platform, our uniform supplier, our lunch service, our online giving and payment processor, and Diocese of St. Petersburg resources.

Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of them is governed by those documents rather than by ours. We provide the links as a convenience and are not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of any third-party site or service.

07 · GIVING & PAYMENTS

Online giving and payments

Gifts and payments submitted online are processed by a third-party payment provider. The school does not receive or store your full card or bank account numbers.

  • You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method you submit.
  • Charitable gifts are generally non-refundable; if a gift was made in error, email the office promptly and we will work with you in good faith to correct it.
  • Recurring gifts continue until you cancel them; you may cancel by emailing the office or through the payment provider.
  • Gift receipts and acknowledgment letters are issued by the school for tax purposes. We do not provide tax advice — please consult your own advisor.
  • Tuition, fees, and payment plans are governed by your enrollment agreement and the tuition schedule published for the applicable school year.
08 · TEXT MESSAGING

Text message program terms

The school operates an SMS notification program for enrolled families and others who have given consent. Full program details are published on our Text Message Program page.

  • Consent. We send text messages only to numbers whose owners have given us express consent through enrollment paperwork, the family portal, a written email request, or a request made in person at the front office. Consent is never a condition of enrollment, admission, or financial assistance.
  • Message types. Safety and emergency notices, closures and schedule changes, attendance and dismissal information, tuition and deadline reminders, appointment confirmations, and school or parish community announcements. We do not send third-party advertising.
  • Frequency. Message frequency varies with the school calendar. Most recipients receive two to six messages per month; weeks with weather or safety events may be higher.
  • Rates. Message and data rates may apply, according to the plan you hold with your mobile carrier.
  • Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop all further messages. UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are also honored. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts. Opting out does not affect your child’s enrollment or standing.
  • Help. Reply HELP to any message, or email [email protected].
  • Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed; the same notices are also sent by email or posted in the family portal.
  • Number changes. Please notify the office when your mobile number changes so that emergency notices continue to reach you.
09 · EMAIL

Email communications

Enrolled families receive school email as part of the school–family relationship, including required notices, newsletters, and account information. Non-essential email lists include an unsubscribe link, and you may also ask the office to adjust your preferences.

Because email and text delivery cannot be guaranteed, families remain responsible for checking the family portal and official school communications for required information.

10 · STUDENT RECORDS

Student and family information

Student records, health information, and family financial information are handled in accordance with Diocese of St. Petersburg policy and applicable law, and are not published on this website. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

11 · PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography and media

The school photographs and records school events for use in yearbooks, newsletters, this website, and school social media accounts, subject to the media authorization on file for each student. Families may limit or withdraw that authorization in writing at any time by emailing the office.

Visitors and families are asked to respect the privacy of other children: please do not post photographs of students other than your own to public social media without the permission of their parents.

12 · DISCLAIMER

Disclaimer of warranties

This website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

13 · LIABILITY

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, St. Joseph Catholic School, the Diocese of St. Petersburg, and their employees, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of your access to or use of this website, any linked third-party service, or any failure or delay in the delivery of an email or text message.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Florida law.

14 · INDEMNIFICATION

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless St. Joseph Catholic School and the Diocese of St. Petersburg from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your misuse of this website or your violation of these terms or of applicable law.

15 · GOVERNING LAW

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from use of this website will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, and you consent to that venue and jurisdiction.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

16 · CHANGES

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes affecting enrolled families will also be communicated by email or through the family portal. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
