Hello Parents! Hola Padres!

As you have noticed, the Christmas show has moved to Wednesday, December 18^th.

Students need to be in their homerooms by 6:10 pm on that evening to ensure an on-time show.

This year, I am asking the students in each class to wear their “Christmas best”.

Kindergarten:  I have antlers for you; just dress up for the show.

1^st grade: I will give you snowflakes for the show. Just wear your best holiday clothes.

2^nd grade: I have hats for the boys, and colorful sashes for the girls.  Christmas best (red, white, black, blue, green)

3^rd grade:  Christmas best outfits, please

4^th grade:  Put on your best outfits for the show. Girls, if you have bows for your hair, wear them!

5^th grade: We are working on costumes for you.  I will post updates in google classroom

Production Crew:  Wear black, please. Jeans are fine with a plain black shirt.

8^th graders:  Nativity will be costumed in December.

Como habrás notado, el espectáculo de Navidad se ha trasladado al miércoles 18 de diciembre.

Los estudiantes deben estar en sus aulas a las 6:10 p. m. esa noche para garantizar un espectáculo a tiempo.

Este año, les pido a los estudiantes de cada clase que se vistan con su "mejor ropa navideña".

Kindergarten: Tengo astas para ti; solo vístete para el espectáculo.

1er grado: Te daré copos de nieve para el espectáculo. Solo ponte tu mejor ropa navideña.

2do grado: Tengo sombreros para los niños y fajas de colores para las niñas. La mejor ropa navideña (rojo, blanco, negro, azul, verde)

3er grado: Los mejores atuendos navideños, por favor

4to grado: Ponte tu mejor ropa para el espectáculo. Chicas, si tienes moños para el cabello, ¡úsalos!

5to grado: Estamos trabajando en disfraces para ti. Publicaré actualizaciones en Google Classroom

Equipo de producción: Vístete de negro, por favor. Los jeans quedan bien con una camisa negra sencilla.

8to grado: El pesebre se disfrazará en diciembre.

Baptism Information

Dear Parents/ Estimados Padres,

St. Joseph Church is offering Baptism to any student that will be seven years old or younger before January 25, 2025. If your child has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, would like to receive the Sacrament of Baptism, and will be seven years old or younger on January 25, 2025, see the information below:

To receive Baptism, you must turn into the office by December 6, 2024:

1. A Baptism Registration Form (available in the office)
2. A copy of the child’s birth certificate
3. Copy of the Godparents’ Confirmation Certificate (if single) or a copy of the Godparents’ Marriage Certificate (if married)

You will need to attend a pre-Baptismal Class:

• English – January 3, 2025, at 7:00p.m.
• Spanish – January 17, 2025, at 7:00p.m.

And the Baptism will be held on:

• English – January 11, 2025, at 10:00a.m.
• Spanish – January 25, 2025, at 10:00a.m.

La Iglesia de San José ofrece el bautismo a cualquier estudiante que tenga siete años o menos, antes del 25 de enero de 2025. Si su hijo no ha recibido el sacramento del bautismo y le gustaría recibirlo, tendra oportunidad hasta el  25 de enero del  2025. Por favor consulte la siguiente información:

Para recibir el bautismo, debe entregar los documentos en la oficina antes del 6 de diciembre de 2024:

1. Un formulario de registro de bautismo (disponible en la oficina de la escuela)
2. Una copia del certificado de nacimiento del niño o nina.
3. Copia del certificado de confirmación de los padrinos (si es soltero) o una copia del certificado de matrimonio de los padrinos (si estan casado)= 

Deberá asistir a una clase prebautismal:

• Inglés: 3 de enero de 2025 a las 7:00 p.m.
• Español: 17 de enero de 2025 a las 7:00 p.m.

Y el Bautismo se llevará a cabo el:

• Inglés – 11 de enero de 2025 a las 10:00 a.m.

Christmas Show and Diocesan Day of Reconciliation

Dear Parents/ Estimados Padres,

The Diocese of St. Petersburg is excited to offer a diocesan-wide Day of Reconciliation on December 19, 2024. All churches in the Diocese, including St. Joseph will be open for Reconciliation services for all Catholics.

Due to this, the Christmas Show that was scheduled for Thursday, December 19 at 6:30 p.m. will now take place on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:30 p.m.

La Diócesis de San Petersburgo se complace en ofrecer un Día de la Reconciliación para toda la diócesis el 19 de diciembre de 2024. Todas las iglesias de la diócesis, incluida la de San José, estarán abiertas para los servicios de Reconciliación para todos los católicos.

Debido a esto, la Obra de Navidad que estaba programada para el jueves 19 de diciembre a las 6:30 p.m. ahora se llevará a cabo el miércoles 18 de diciembre a las 6:30 p.m.

Report cards were emailed home this afternoon. If you did not receive a report card, please contact the office.

The link expires in two weeks so save the report cards when you open them.

Tomorrow, November 7, we are having Picture Day retakes. If you are interested in your child getting a retake, please let their teacher know so that they go for a retake. Only students requesting a retake – and 8^th graders getting their cap and gown pictures – will have their picture taken tomorrow.

Mañana, 7 noviembre, vamos a retomar las fotos del día. Si está interesado en que su hijo vuelva a tomar la prueba, infórmeselo a su maestro para que vuelva a tomarla. Solo los estudiantes que soliciten una repetición, y los estudiantes de octavo grado obteniendo sus fotos de toga y birrete, se tomarán una foto mañana.

Halloween Parade 2024

Dear Parents/ Estimados Padres,

On Thursday, October 31, we have our Halloween Parade at 2:00pm between the school buildings. Parents who would like to see the parade may arrive at the front gate at 1:45pm.

Students may dress up in their Halloween costume on October 31 as long as it is school appropriate, not too scary, and does not include weapons or objects that could be a weapon.  Parents may pick their own children straight after the parade instead of getting back into car line if they choose.

We do need candy for the event. Please have your child bring a bag of fun size candy to the office with a receipt. You will get a service hour for every $15 spent.

In addition, if you would like to help set up for the event or pass out candy, please contact the school office.

El jueves 31 de octubre tenemos nuestro Desfile de Halloween a las 2:00pm entre los edificios. Los padres que deseen ver el desfile pueden llegar a la puerta principal a la 1:45pm.

Los estudiantes pueden disfrazarse con su disfraz de Halloween el 31 de octubre siempre que sea apropiado para la escuela, no demasiado aterrador y no incluya armas u objetos que puedan ser armas. Los padres pueden elegir a sus propios hijos inmediatamente después del desfile en lugar de volver a la fila de autos si así lo desean.

Necesitamos dulces para el evento. Haga que su hijo traiga una bolsa de dulces de tamaño pequeño a la oficina con un recibo. Recibirá una hora de servicio por cada $15 gastados.

Dear Parents/Estimados Padres,

We pray that you and your family have made it through Hurricane Milton safely. If there is anything you need in its aftermath, please contact the school.

School will be reopened on Monday, October 14. While there was damage to the fencing around school, the classrooms are in working order and safe to use. We are grateful to be in a position to safely reopen on Monday.

In addition, school lunches will be provided 100% free of charge to any student or staff member that would like it. Families that have prepaid lunch will be given the choice to apply those payments for future lunches, offer them as a donation, or request a refund.

Lunch schedule for the week:

Monday: Pizza  

Tuesday: Baked Ziti with Garlic Bread

Wednesday: Chicken Patty with Yellow Rice

Thursday: Ham and Cheese Sandwich, fries and carrots & celery

Friday: Spaghetti and Meatballs with a side salad

Oramos para que ustedes y sus familias hayan podido sobrevivir al huracán Milton de manera segura. Si necesita algo después de las consecuencias, comuníquese con la escuela.

La escuela volverá a abrir el lunes 14 de octubre. Si bien hubo daños en la cerca que rodea la escuela, las aulas están en condiciones de funcionamiento y son seguras para usar. Estamos agradecidos de poder reabrir de forma segura el lunes.

Además, se proporcionarán almuerzos escolares 100% gratuitos a cualquier estudiante o miembro del personal que lo desee. Las familias que hayan pagado el almuerzo por adelantado tendrán la opción de aplicar esos pagos para futuros almuerzos, ofrecerlos como donación o solicitar un reembolso.

Programa de almuerzos para la semana:

Lunes: Pizza

Martes: Ziti al horno con pan de ajo

Miércoles: Hamburguesa de pollo con arroz amarillo

Jueves: Sándwich de jamón y queso con zanahorias y apio y papas fritas

Viernes: Espaguetis y albóndigas con ensalada
