Dear parents/Queridos padres,
Bishop Parkes and the Diocese of St. Petersburg have decided to close St. Joseph from Tuesday, September 27 to Thursday, September 29 to allow time to prepare for the storm. Nothing has been decided regarding Friday, September 30.
Teachers will post assignments each day in their Google Classroom, Remind, or Seesaw accounts. If there are questions, send a message to the teacher via Google Classroom or Remind between 8:00am and 3:00pm for a teacher response. The teacher may not respond outside those hours or if they have lost internet access.
A link for attendance will be texted home each morning.
There will not be Zoom instruction nor Zoom office hours.
We pray for a safe week for all of you, your families, and all others in the path of Hurricane Ian.
El obispo Parkes y la Diócesis de St. Petersburg han decidido cerrar St. Joseph desde el martes 27 de septiembre hasta el jueves 29 de septiembre para tener tiempo de prepararse para la tormenta. No se ha decidido nada respecto al viernes 30 de septiembre.

Dear Parents/Queridos Padres,
Today, September 16, almost 60 students, or 20% of the total students, are absent.
During this past week, many students were home due to illness. A few of the students have had COVID-19, but most of the cases reported have been positive for Flu type A.
Please monitor your child for symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, stomach pain, and headache, and do not send them to school if they are sick and/or symptomatic. We do not want them to spread illness to their classmates and teachers.
Hoy, 16 de septiembre, faltan casi 60 estudiantes, o sea el 20% del total de estudiantes.
Durante la semana pasada, muchos estudiantes fueron en casa debido a una enfermedad. Algunos de los estudiantes han tenido COVID-19, pero la mayoría de los casos informados han sido positivos para la gripe tipo A.
Observe a su hijo para detectar síntomas como fiebre, dolor de garganta, tos, dolor de estómago y dolor de cabeza, y no lo envíe a la escuela si está enfermo o si tiene síntomas. No queremos que contagien enfermedades a sus compañeros y maestros.

Dear Parents/Queridos Padres,
The annual Parent Meeting for Kindergarten to 8th Grade is Thursday, August 25, at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. There will be three sessions.
- If you prefer an English presentation, you will report to the cafeteria first, then your child’s classroom afterwards for a presentation from your child’s teacher.
- If you prefer a Spanish presentation, you will report to your child’s classroom first.
- After about 20 minutes, we will rotate sessions, and the Spanish presentation will take place in the cafeteria while those that prefer English can go to the classrooms.
- After another 20 minutes, you will have the opportunity to meet with the rest of your child’s teachers if you have more than one.
This is also a reminder that this Friday is Noon Dismissal for Kindergarten to 8th grade and, 11:30am dismissal for VPK.
La reunión anual de padres para Kindergarten a 8vo grado es el jueves 25 de agosto a las 6:00 p. m. en la cafetería. Habrá tres sesiones.
- Si prefiere una presentación en inglés, primero se presentará en la cafetería y luego en el salón de clases de su hijo para una presentación del maestro de su hijo.
- Si prefiere una presentación en español, primero se presentará en el salón de clases de su hijo.
- Después de unos 20 minutos, rotaremos las sesiones y la presentación en español se llevará a cabo en la cafetería, mientras que aquellos que prefieran inglés pueden ir a las aulas.

We are excited to welcome everyone back to school in a couple of weeks after a much needed summer break.
If you never received your summer packet, stop by the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 8:30am to 1:00pm.
A few upcoming dates to keep in mind for Kindergarten to 8th grade students:
- August 4, 2022 (1:00pm-6:00pm): Parents may drop off their supplies and meet their teacher(s) for the next school year.
- August 8, 2022: First day of school
- August 25, 2022 (6:00pm-7:30pm): All Parent Meeting
Estamos emocionados de darles la bienvenida a todos en la escuela en un par de semanas después de unas vacaciones de verano muy necesarias.
Si nunca recibió su paquete de verano, pase por la oficina el martes, miércoles o jueves de 8:30am a 1:00pm.

Tomorrow, May 26, we will be sending home envelopes containing information including supply lists, summer work, uniform information, and standardized test scores.
Summer reading books are available in the office for purchase as well.
However, if you still owe a balance for tuition, lunch, or afterschool care, the envelope will be held in the office until your balance has been paid. Please call or stop by to pay off any outstanding balances.
Mañana, 26 de mayo, enviaremos a casa sobres que contienen información que incluye listas de útiles, trabajo de verano, información sobre uniformes y puntajes de exámenes estandarizados.
