No Thanksgiving Feast Nov 18

Dear Parents/Queridos Padres,

There will be NO Thanksgiving Feast on Friday, November 18.

Tomorrow, November 17, we are offering a Thanksgiving lunch – turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, and a sweet roll – to the students at their regular lunchtime for free.

If your child does not want the lunch, they may pack their own lunch from home.

NO habrá Fiesta de Acción de Gracias el viernes 18 de noviembre.

Mañana, 17 de noviembre, ofreceremos un almuerzo de Acción de Gracias: pavo y salsa, puré de papas, maíz y un panecillo dulce, a los estudiantes en su hora habitual de almuerzo de forma gratuita. 

Si su hijo no quiere el almuerzo, puede empacarle su propio almuerzo de la casa.

Christmas Program 2022

Dear Parents/ Estimados padres,

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the year! We are working on our Christmas show, "Christmas Around the World," which we will present on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 6:30pm in the Church.

Here is a list of what the students need as far as costuming:

• Kindergarteners need to wear shorts, t-shirts and white socks. We will provide their costumes.
• 1^st graders should wear a white t-shirt and khaki shorts (school shorts work), and tennis shoes.
• 2^nd graders should wear a white shirt and black pants, or skirt. School shoes, or black shoes, are fine.
• 3^rd graders  A white t-shirt and khaki shorts, or skirt (school shorts). School shoes will be fine.
• 4^th graders Red, or white shirt with black pants, shorts, or skirt. School shoes are fine.
• 5^th graders: Christmas Attire (Christmas shirt, sweater, dress, etc).

If you do not have a red shirt, or black pants, please do not think you must spend a lot of money on these items. A borrowed shirt or thrift shop shirt will be fine (Salvation Army sells clothes at half price on Wednesdays).  

We are providing most costume accessories.

Yes, they may wear the costume pieces listed above to the school that night.

Students should report to classrooms by 6:00pm to get ready for the show.

If your family is out of town that week, please send an email to the teacher or to me to let us know.

¡Es la época más maravillosa del año! Estamos trabajando en nuestro programa navideño: Christmas Around the World, que presentaremos el martes 20 de diciembre de 2022 a las 6:30 pm en la Iglesia.

Aquí hay una lista de lo que los estudiantes necesitan en cuanto a vestuario:

• Los niños de kindergarten deben usar pantalones cortos, camisetas y calcetines blancos. Proporcionaremos sus disfraces.

Si no tiene una camisa roja o pantalones negros, no crea que debe gastar mucho dinero en estos artículos. Una camisa prestada o una camisa de una tienda de segunda mano estará bien (el Ejército de Salvación vende ropa a mitad de precio los miércoles).

Estamos proporcionando la mayoría de los accesorios de vestuario.

Dear parents/Queridos padres,

Bishop Parkes and the Diocese of St. Petersburg have decided to close St. Joseph on Thursday, November 10.

Teachers will post assignments in their Google Classroom, Remind, or Seesaw accounts. If there are questions, send a message to the teacher via Google Classroom or Remind between 8:00am and 3:00pm for a teacher response. The teacher may not respond outside those hours or if they have lost internet access.

A link for attendance will be texted home in the morning.

There will not be Zoom instruction nor Zoom office hours.

Per the school calendar, there is no school on Friday for Veteran's Day. Since it is a holiday, there will be no assignments posted on Friday.

We pray for a safe day for all of you and your families.

El obispo Parkes y la Diócesis de St. Petersburg han decidido cerrar St. Joseph desde el jueves 10 de noviembre.

Los maestros publicarán trabajo en sus cuentas de Google Classroom, Remind, o Seesaw. Si hay preguntas, envíe un mensaje al maestro a través de Google Classroom o Remind entre las 8:00am y las 3:00 pm para obtener una respuesta del maestro. Halloween Parade

Dear Parents/ Queridos Padres,

On Monday, October 31, we have our Halloween Parade at 2:00pm between the school buildings. Parents who would like to see the parade may arrive at the front gate at 1:45pm.

We need candy to distribute for the parade. Please bring bags of Halloween candy to the office with the receipt. Families will receive one service hour for every $15 of Halloween candy brought to the office.

In addition, we are asking for volunteers to help set up, pass out candy, and clean up afterwards from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Please sign up here or below if you would like to volunteer. Volunteers must have their Safe Environment Training and Level II Background screening.

On October 13 at 6:00pm we are excited to offer our first Frameworks Parent Workshop on helping our children with understanding and managing emotions in positive ways. We are partnering with Cristo Rey Tampa Catholic School to offer this session in person. 

If you are interested in attending, please go to Cristo Rey Tampa at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 13 for the session.

We will offer the same session virtually on Thursday, October 20. More information about that will come next week.

Blessing of the Animals

Dear Parents/Queridos Padres,

This Tuesday, October 4, is the Feast of St. Francis.  In honor of St. Francis, we will have our annual Blessing of the Animals.  If you are interested in having your pet blessed, please bring it to school at 2:15pm on a leash or appropriately stored.  If you cannot bring your pet to be blessed, your child may bring a picture or draw a picture of the animal instead.

See you back in school tomorrow, Monday, October 3.

Este martes 4 de octubre, es la fiesta de San Francisco. En honor a San Francisco, tendremos nuestra bendición anual de los animales. Si está interesado en que su mascota sea bendecida, tráigala a la escuela a las 2:15pm con una correa o guárdela adecuadamente. Si no puede traer a su mascota para ser bendecida, su hijo puede traer una imagen o dibujar una imagen del animal.

Nos vemos de vuelta en la escuela mañana, lunes 3 de octubre.

Dear parents/Queridos padres,

St. Joseph will reopen for classes on Monday, October 3.

While the school lost power for a time and there is some minor damage to the campus, we have been fortunate to avoid any major harm. 

We pray for a safe weekend for all of you, your families, and all others suffering from the impact of Hurricane Ian.
