Hurricane Helene Assistance

Dear Families/ Estimadas familias,

We were fortunate here at St. Joseph that Hurricane Helene did not do much damage to school. There were some fallen branches and damage to fencing, but in total we did not suffer any harm.

However, we have families here at St. Joseph that were not so fortunate. Some families suffered devastating consequences to their homes and livelihoods due to flooding.

If you would like to help some of the families that suffered due to Hurricane Helene, we ask if you could bring gift cards of any amount for grocery stores such as Publix, Winn-Dixie, or Walmart or for gasoline. We will pass along those cards to the affected families on your behalf so that they can help recover from the storm.

We continue to pray for each of your well-being.

Tuvimos la suerte de que el huracán Helene no causara muchos daños en la escuela. Hubo algunas ramas caídas y daños en las cercas, pero en total no sufrimos ningún daño. 

Sin embargo, tenemos familias aquí en St. Joseph que no fueron tan afortunadas. Algunas familias sufrieron consecuencias devastadoras en sus hogares y medios de vida debido a las inundaciones. 

Si desea ayudar a algunas de las familias que sufrieron debido al huracán Helene, le pedimos que traiga tarjetas de regalo de cualquier monto para supermercados como Publix, Winn-Dixie o Walmart o para gasolina. Les entregaremos esas tarjetas a las familias afectadas en su nombre para que puedan ayudar a recuperarse de la tormenta.

The annual Open House for Kindergarten to 8^th Grade is Thursday, October 3, at 6:00pm at St. Joseph.

• When you arrive at school, you can report to your child’s classroom
• After about 20 minutes, we will rotate sessions so that you have an opportunity to go to your next child’s classroom. There will be three total sessions, and the meeting will conclude at 7:00pm
• If your child is in middle school, please report first to your child’s homeroom. You will have an opportunity to go to the other classrooms in the next two sessions.

La Open House de niños desde el Kindergarten hasta el octavo grado se llevará a cabo el jueves 3 de octubre a las 6:00 pm en St. Joseph.

• Cuando llegue a la escuela, puede presentarse en el salón de clases de su hijo.
• Después de unos 20 minutos, rotaremos las sesiones para que tenga la oportunidad de ir al salón de clases de su próximo hijo. Habrá tres sesiones en total y la reunión finalizará a las 7:00 p. m.
• Si su hijo está en la escuela secundaria, preséntese primero en el salón de clases de su hijo. Tendrá la oportunidad de ir a los otros salones de clases en las próximas dos sesiones.

No Blessing of the Animals

Dear Families/ Estimadas familias,

We will not be having the Blessing of the Animals on Friday, October 4. Instead, we are asking students to bring pictures of their pets to mass tomorrow, Thursday, October 3. The pictures may be actual photos or hand drawn. They will be blessed by Father Nelson during the mass.

No tendremos la bendición de los animales el viernes 4 de octubre. En su lugar, les pedimos a los estudiantes que traigan fotografías de sus mascotas a la misa de mañana, jueves 3 de octubre. Las fotografías pueden ser reales o dibujadas a mano. El padre Nelson las bendecirá durante la misa.

Storm Helene

Dear parents/ Estimados padres,

Bishop Parkes and the Diocese of St. Petersburg have been monitoring the developing storm.

Tomorrow, September 25, they have decided that we will have a half day of school. All students will be dismissed at noon. There will be no after school care or after school activities.

Thursday, September 26 they have decided to close St. Joseph. 

They will continue to monitor the situation for Friday, September 27.

The Open House originally scheduled for Thursday, September 26 will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 3 at 6:00pm.

We pray for all of you, your families, and all others in the path of the storm.

El obispo Parkes y la diócesis de San Petersburgo han estado monitoreando la tormenta que se está desarrollando.

Mañana, 25 de septiembre, han decidido que tendremos medio día de clases. Todos los estudiantes saldrán al mediodía. No habrá cuidado ni actividades después de la escuela.

El jueves 26 de septiembre han decidido cerrar  la  escuela de St. Joseph.

Continuarán monitoreando la situación hasta el viernes 27 de septiembre.

El Open House originalmente programada para el jueves 26 de septiembre se llevará a cabo a las 6:00pm el jueves 3 de octubre a las 6:00pm

Oramos por todos ustedes, sus familias y todos los demás que se encuentren en el camino de la tormenta.

There has been a change to the School Calendar.

Spring Break will now be from March 17, 2025 - March 21, 2025.

School will still be out on April 18, 2025 for Good Friday and April 21, 2025 for Easter Monday. There will be school from April 22-25, 2025.

Se ha producido un cambio en el Calendario Escolar.

Las vacaciones de primavera serán ahora del 17 al 21 de marzo de 2025.

Las clases seguirán estando cerradas el 18 de abril de 2025 por Viernes Santo y el 21 de abril de 2025 por Lunes de Pascua. Habrá clases del 22 al 25 de abril de 2025.
